Cedar Lodge

Just 8 miles outside the Village of Cloudcroft, Cedar Lodge cabin is truly a retreat in every sense of the word. If you’re looking for a place for the family to relax and unwind in a beautiful, peaceful setting, this is it. Wildlife, relaxation, comfortable furnishings, WiFi, telephone for incoming calls or local calls to Mayhill, TV with DVD player, stereo with a wide variety of CDs, a variety of books and games, and lots of extras to make your stay special. Cedar Lodge is not your ordinary rental cabin. We cater to families, yet pamper like a bed & breakfast! You won’t find another cabin that provides as much as we do!

Cedar Lodge is located half way between Cloudcroft and Mayhill. It is recommended that you have chains or 4WD during the winter months. Not always needed, but it’s better to be prepared. If you’re into geocaching, there are LOTS of great sites nearby!

Cedar Lodge is a non-smoking cabin that sleeps 8 with three bedrooms and one bath – two bedrooms upstairs and one down. Each bedroom has a queen-size bed, with an electric blanket (fall/winter, only) and quilt or comforter, to keep the chill away. One bedroom has both a queen and twin bed.  A second twin bed is located in the alcove between the two bedrooms. All bed linens are provided and all are line-dried in fresh air and sunshine.

Cedar Lodge boasts a large kitchen that opens up into the living area. This includes an 8′ table, allowing everyone to eat together. The kitchen comes with a full size stove and refrigerator, microwave, toaster/convection oven, toaster, and coffee pot, and is fully stocked with dishes, cookware and crock pots, as well as a Weber gas grill on the deck. We also provide drinking water, fresh ground coffee (both regular & decaf), hot cocoa, specialty teas, pancake mix and syrup, and a variety of instant oatmeal. And just in case you get the urge to cook or bake, we have a well-stocked spice cupboard, as well as flour and sugar. If you want the full list of what we provide, we’ve got one here.

For those families with babies, we provide a portacrib with mattress pads, sheets (multiples of both, in case of accidents) and bumper, high chair, booster seat, Bumbo seat, baby jumper, and a baby gate. Cleanliness is very important to us, so we try our best to make sure everything is as clean as possible, especially all baby items. Check out our baby page to see pictures of all we provide.

In the bath, we treat you to quality handmade soap and lotion from Thymeless Bath & Oils, which will leave you feeling and smelling wonderful. Our bath also comes stocked with a blow dryer, two different size curling irons and a flat iron. We also provide an iron and ironing board, to keep you looking your best.

Cedar Lodge invites you to relax and leave the hectic city life behind. Our living area includes a large comfortable couch and chairs to curl up in and watch the fire. An antique writing desk is a good spot to catch up on correspondence or you can just relax in the rocking chair with a good book. Heat is available from the wood stove or the central furnace.

An ample deck provides the perfect spot to watch the hummingbirds up close. There is a wide variety of wildlife around Cedar Lodge, and we frequently spot deer (and occasionally, elk) around the cabin. Remember, all the animals may be cute, but they’re still wild – so do not attempt to get close to them. Although we love animals, we do not allow pets at Cedar Lodge. In the summer, the flower boxes are filled with flowers and ferns.

At Cedar Lodge, the summer daytime highs can be anywhere from 50 to 80 degrees with the overnight lows around 45 to 60, so bring a sweater or light jacket. Winter daytime highs can range from 20 to 50, with overnight lows very cold, so you’ll definitely need a warm jacket. Check the forecast or click here to see a live web cam!

We have security cameras on the exterior of the cabin, for our safety and yours.
